Murrurundi . -  The Murrurundi 12th Light Horse Troop are holding a series of training days in 2010.  Anyone in the Murrurundi area wishing to learn tentpegging,  contact Del Ross. Phone 0265466196, Mobile 0416076196

The Australian team  returned with two gold and three bronze medals after competing in India at the International Tentpegging Competition from 24th March 2010 to the 28th Match 2010 at the Noida sports stadium, near New Delhi.

The competition was run under EFI rules, which are different from the Australian  rules. The events contested were:

24th March:: Individual Tentpegging [Lance] Round A and Round B, Individual Ring and Peg [Lance] 2 runs.

25th March: Individual Tentpegging [Sword] Round A and Round B, Individual Lemon and Peg, 2 runs.

27th March: Team Tentpegging [Lance] Round A and Round B, Tentpegging Paired [Lance and Sword] 2 runs.

28th March: Team Tentpegging [Sword] Round A and Round B, Indian File Team 2 runs.

AUGUST - 7th & 8th - VICTORIAN TENTPEGGING CHAMPIONSHIPS. Yarrawonga Showgrounds

Maitland  - Tentpegging club formed.

Training days will be held monthly at the Hinton/Wallalong Pony Club ground incorporating Troop Drill and Tentpegging. Anyone in the Hunter Valley area wishing to join either the Tentpegging Club or the 16th Light Horse  , contact Graham Chapman on mobile 0412341736.

The victorious Austalian team - Left to Right - Manager Kevin Meese, Captain Neville Rathbone, Ray Johnston, Terry Phillips and Jake Van Dorssen, with their gold medals after the presentations for the premier event, the teams lances.

The Israeli Pairs team of Uri Peretz and Aviv Kadshai offer their congratulations  to Egypt, Mahmood Zagzog and Mustafa Edries and Australia, Neville Rathbone and Jake Van Dorssen, the winners of the gold medal, after the presentation of the medals for the Pairs event.

QUEENSLAND TENTPEGGING CHAMPIONSHIPS

VICTORIAN TENTPEGGING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Victorian Tentpegging Championships are to be held at the Yarrawonga Showgrounds on the weekend of the 7th and 8th of August., 2010. The tentpegging will start at 8.30 am on Saturday, with a mounted parade before the judges briefing.

This will be the first competition for the new  tentpegging season. Tentpeggers are reminded that  registrations for the coming year are now due, and must be paid before you can compete at Yarawonga.

The Queensland Tentpegging Association held their Annual State Championships  on the weekend of the 6th and 7th of June.

 

The Tamworth Valley team of Steve Ninness, Bryson Roser, Wayne Biffin and Barry Biffin won the A Grade with a score of 808 points.

B Grade was convincingly won by the City Cowboys team of  Peter MacLaughlin, Bruce Smith, Lisa Smith and Alycia Kuhnert, with a total score of 298 points.

In the C Grade, the Mount Mee Rebels were victorious with a score of 611.5 points.

Bruce Smith won the A Grade Individual with a score of 325 points from Brad Gurney on 314.5 in second place and Steve Green filled third spot with a score of 302.

The B Grade Individual was a close run affair, with three riders within 3 points of each other. The winner was Arthur Demain on a score of 284. Hot on his heels was Bryson Roser and one and a half points behind with 282.5 points.   In third spot was Peter      MacLaughlin with 281.

Eight Junior riders were in contention for the individual title in the Junior Competition .  C. Grey won the event with 212.5 points from S.Grey on 190 and in third place K.Cox on 180.5
