Australian Tentpegging Association Members will be at this event to demonstrate and instruct anyone wishing to try tentpegging. Riders will need a day membership insurance with UMHA at this event.

THE NATIONAL CAPITAL TENTPEGGING CHAMPIONSHIPS,

      Canberra Royal Show, 27th and 28th February, 2010               

 

 

The Australian team to compete in India at the International Tentpegging Competition to be  run over 5 days from 24th March 2010 to the 28th Match 2010 at the Noida sports stadium,near New Delhi, has been confirmed. Those selected are Neville Rathbone, Jake vanDorssen, Terry Phillips and Ray Johnston. The team manager is Kevin Meese.

 

The events to be contested are:

24th March: Individual Tentpegging [Lance] Round A and Round B, Individual Ring and Peg [Lance] 2 runs.

25th March: Individual Tentpegging [Sword] Round a and Round B, Individual Lemon and Peg, 2 runs.

27th March: Team Tentpegging [Lance] Round A and Round B, Tentpegging Paired [Lance and Sword] 2 runs.

28th March: Team Tentpegging [Sword] Round A and Round B, Indian File Team 2 runs.

 

The competition will be run under EFI rules, which are different from the Australian  rules.

Four teams, Hunter Valley, Albury, Deniliquin and the Redcoats, competed in the teams tentpegging competition at the 2010 Canberra Royal Show.

Albury with three members of the Australian team which will tour India later this month, won the competition from Hunter Valley.

The Redcoats were third one

point ahead of Deniliquin in

fourth place.

The Champion Female Tentpegger was won by Christina Swinton, riding for the Deniliquin team, who dropped 2 points for the competition.

Neviille Rathbone, riding for the Albury team and Captian of the Australian team won the Champion Male Tentpegger.

The Glen Innes Show was held on Saturday 13th of February 2010, The competition was held on one day with four rounds and then a further two, later in the day to end the competition. After the first four rounds there were only 5 points between all three teams and as usual the swords sorted things out.

Coming in in first place with 265,5 points was the Hunter Valley team consisting of Bob Freeman, Steve Ninness, Tahbo Albertson and Jamie Bannister, Just 3,5 points behind, The Overlanders, Andrew McIntyre,Katrina McIntyre, Craig Burton and Max Burton took out second place with 262 points.

The Tamworth Team, Wayne Biffin, Barry Biffen, Bryson Roser and Amery Thompson filled third place with 252.5 points.

Two juniors also competed. Casey McIntyre pegged a total points score of 48 and Cameron Ninnes a total of 60 points,

Craig Burton was the individual tentpegger, dropping two points overall, with a total of 20 points out of the possible 72.
